Ah, winter. The season we're presented with the struggle of warmth versus style. Growing up in the ski town of Park City, Utah, my friend Madison (sprucesandstones.weebly.com) and I are familiar with dressing for the winter elements. The bars we frequent on Main Street are fairly casual, ski bums coming for a beer after spending the day on the slopes, tourists bundled in fleece and hats, locals stopping in for a burger and local brew. Occasionally we spot some outsiders dressed in sky-high heels (on the ice and snow? dangerous!) and sparkly mini dresses (cold!). We realized that a casual, warm outfit with the perfect cold-weather accessory fits every bar on Main Street, and that scarves are definitely a go-to for warmth and style. Pair a patterned dress with a cardigan, tights, and scarf for dinner and cocktails. For a coffee date with friends, an over-sized sweater with a warm scarf. A plaid button-up with jeans and a striped scarf is casual and cute for beers at the local western-style bar. Stay warm, and cheers to winter!
